The importance of walking with God

In Exodus 3:1-12 we see that God is calling moses in the desert. God tells Moses to take his sandals off. Taking off one's sandals signifies, first, becoming a servant to someone. And second, renewing one's mind and body. Sandals are stained with dirt with places that a person has gone and works he has done. But when by taking them off, he has let go of whatever he did in the past.

As christians, one of the most important realization for us is to have an on-going relationship with God. Are you walking with God? We must ask ourselves daily. It is easy to become depressed when we compare ourselves to others and the world. But we must realize what¡¯s important is holding on to and not letting loose of our relationship with God. ¡°Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. (Exodus 2:12)¡± Even though Moses has an ugly past, that is not what God sees from Moses. When no one paid attention to Moses, God sees him and calls him at that moment.

I pray that we will dream new dreams as we walk with God daily. And today, when the world asks us "who are you?", we may answer back saying, "I am a person who is walking with God".
